Philippines property market to attract more international investors.

According to one of the Philippines’ leading media groups, ABS-CBN Publishing Inc, the high quality of real estate products in Manila and key resort destinations around the country is now attracting significantly more interest from overseas investors.

Speaking at a press conference to announce the official launch of Property Report Magazine in the Philippines, ABS-CBN Publishing Inc’s managing director, Mark Yambot, said its partnership with the leading regional luxury real estate title is very timely, given the strong performance of the Philippine real estate market.

“We believe there’s an incremental growth opportunity for local developers from buyers from Southeast Asia,” he said. “There’s an increase in property investments among the affluent in the region. Given this regional demand, there is value in a magazine that can show the best in the Philippines.”

Terry Blackburn, CEO, Ensign Media, publishers of Property Report Magazine added that the Philippines is one of the most exciting real estate markets in Asia. Based on a recent Urban Land Institute survey, Manila is the hottest real estate investment destination in the region for 2014.

“The quality of the developments here has become world-class,” he said in a separate interview on Mornings@ANC. “The Zuellig building, an award winner at the Philippine Property Awards last year, stands out for quality, a match not just for Asia but also properties around the world.”

The press conference in Manila also marked the official launch of the Philippines Property Awards 2014, which will once again shine a spotlight on the high calibre of work within the country’s real estate industry, encompassing planning, construction, architecture and interior design.

This year, the awards have expanded from 18 to 23 categories and include closely contested project awards such as Best Luxury Condo Development (Metro Manila), Best Commercial Development (Retail) and Best Residential Architectural Design, as well as company awards for the Best Developer and Best Boutique Developer in the country.

Nominations are already pouring in via the Asia Property Awards website with many more expected from the industry and the general public by the end of February closing date.

The official awards presentation ceremony and gala dinner will be held at Fairmont Makati Hotel in Manila on Tuesday July 29, 2014.
